Coupon matchups (index2.php and the per-state ad lists)
The weekly matchup pages — the page at /index2.php and the per-state ad lists under /national/lists/ — use no affiliate links. Outbound links from these pages go to manufacturer coupon issuers and retailer ad pages. We don't earn a commission on coupon prints or grocery purchases.
Outbound coupon links are flagged with rel="sponsored nofollow" per current SEO best practice, even though we receive no compensation for them, because the underlying coupon is itself a manufacturer promotion.
Kitchen Gadget Daily reviews (index3.php)
The Kitchen Gadget Daily buyer's-guide pages use Amazon affiliate links. Each “Buy” button and product link routes through Amazon's Associates Program with our affiliate tag grocsmar-20. If you click through and make a qualifying purchase, Amazon pays us a small commission at no additional cost to you.
Amazon's commission rates vary by product category. The reporting we get back from Amazon is aggregated — we don't see who specifically clicked or what they bought.
Editorial independence
This is the part that matters most: we are not paid by any manufacturer, retailer, or brand to include a specific product in our reviews or matchups. Inclusion decisions and rank ordering on the Kitchen Gadget Daily pages are based on our editorial judgment of specs, value, and reputation. No brand pays for placement; no brand previews or vetoes our coverage.
If we ever begin running sponsored content (clearly labeled as such) or accept review samples for testing, this page will be updated to reflect that and the affected pages will carry a per-page disclosure.
Why disclose at all
The U.S. Federal Trade Commission requires that material connections between an endorser and a marketer be disclosed clearly and conspicuously. The FTC's guidance on endorsement disclosures is the standard we try to follow.
